Meet Susan Massey Hopkins

Realtor®

You could say that Susan Hopkins was destined to become the respected and successful agent she has become as a key member of The Jon Singleton Team. In fact, it might even be in her DNA. You see, Susan is a 3rd generation Realtor.  Both her parents and her grandmother were Real Estate Brokers. “I’ve grown up around real estate my whole life,” she explains. “My father is a successful real estate developer for large residential and commercial projects, too.” Susan got her license when she was a business student at UCF, and she knew that when the time was right, real estate would be her career.

Susan has certainly excelled, and has built an extensive scope of expertise, experience and knowledge over the years. She holds a CLHMS designation (Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist), which gives her a wealth of knowledge in this specialized market. She is also a Nocatee Certified Agent, making her an expert in that coveted community.

Susan specializes in specific niche real estate markets, including Historic Homes, New Construction and Luxury Homes. While she can expertly represent her home buyers and sellers in any market segment, she brings next level representation in these specialized market sectors.

Watch her at work and it’s clear she’s passionate about her profession. “I love that I get to help people every day,” she explains. “Plus, no two days are ever the same, so that’s a definite bonus!” Part of that passion for real estate is based on her constant pursuit of knowledge. Even after more than a decade in the real estate business, Susan loves how she is always learning something new with every home sale.

Susan holds a degree in Finance with a minor in Psychology from UCF. She draws from both disciplines every day in real estate career. She was also an advertising executive in Radio & Television Advertising for 5 years before moving to real estate.  She was the top sales rep in her company. The marketing experience she gleaned from that profession is a distinct advantage when she markets her clients’ listings today.

Susan is married to Chris Hopkins, and they have 4 children, Sophia who is 6, Christian, who is 8, 16 year old Lindsay and  Lilly, who is 19. Susan grew up in New Smyrna Beach, with her younger sister Joanna. “Growing up I enjoyed anything that involved exploring the outdoors and being near the water, boating, fishing, spending time at the beach, hunting, or 4 wheeling,” she notes. She also was on the Varsity Swim Team in high school.

When she’s not hard at work on her clients’ real estate goals, Susan loves to travel!  “Hawaii, Napa Valley and Yellowstone are on my bucket list,” she notes. “There is so much of our beautiful country that I would love to explore!” The Hopkins family recently bought a boat and it’s one of their favorite family activities. They also enjoy tubing, fishing, and exploring new places in Jacksonville and St. Johns along the river. In addition, Susan enjoys Pilates and cooking. “Trying out new recipes for family and friends is a favorite activity,” she says. Will any of her four children carry on the real estate legacy? “It remains to be seen,” laughs Susan.
